Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is looking to appoint to the following Chair in the Department of Social Work.Media.Culture as soon as possible:
Psychology (W 2)
The future post holder will represent the discipline in both research and teaching. They will be expected to have an in-depth knowledge of developmental, personality and social psychology. Experience in carrying out empirical research projects would be welcome. The successful applicant will be expected to act as a key interface for all courses in the department, specifically: Social Work (BA), Culture and Media Education (BA), Applied Media and Cultural Sciences (MA) and Applied Sexology (MA).
We are expecting candidates to have a sound knowledge of and experience in at least two of the following areas:
The successful applicant will have a psychology degree or a degree in education specialising in psychology as well as practical experience in relevant fields of work. They will also need a relevant doctorate of at least “magna cum laude” standard, teaching experience and their own conceptual research and teaching ideas. This must be backed up by evidence and demonstrated in practice.
The future post holder will also need to be able to teach courses in English. The successful candidate will be expected to sit on the university’s administrative bodies and to play an active role in designing degree courses. The appointment regulations laid down in Section 35 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (HSG LSA) shall apply. The salary shall be based on the legal and budgetary requirements. Exceptional performance may be recognised with performance-related bonuses in addition to the basic salary.
